Traders in the Chicago exchanges are beginning to use Twitter. It helps them to follow new trends more quickly.
Yet in the past eight months, Mr. Ferry, 50, has joined a growing group of traders who have become fans of Twitter. It isn’t exactly a new tool in the trading world. A few early adopters started using Twitter as a way to track trade-sensitive information years ago, but traders say its use is growing steadily throughout the industry. For many, Twitter has become a replacement for what they miss most about the trading pits: the active exchange of information, as well as the drama, humor and banter among fellow traders.
